It does seem like the classic case study for business school and MBA types. Lets hope it is more like a Ballsillie/Lazaridis situation where billions of $ are made before the failure, rather than most of the case studies one sees in business schools in which myopia and/or fear of letting go lead to failure.
My hope for Don and particularly Dr Wong and the scientists is that they are generously rewarded soon but I'm not at all hopeful at this stage. Even if a high profile, biotech connected and financially savy management team was brought in to get the job done Don would still be the entreprenurial champ.
It would be very intersting to do an independent opinion study of the key players in Canadian biotech investments and also biotech analysts to get their attitudes about RVX.
I'm baffled. One good thing is that there does not seem to be anything nefarious going on. I believe everyone is operating above board.
So what is the game/goals of the various investors? Seems like a mixed bag loaded toward Chinese investments. I think CD-Venture(Christoff Boehringer) is still in. I assume he thinks there be a ROI at some point but there is a family connection to Boehringer Engelheim that I naievly thought might be of value. NGN, Efung, Ori etc are all there and letting Don stay in place. They must think it is best for them.
It seems like such a pity that a leading epigenetic biotech firm with a team of globally respected research scientists, BTD by the FDA, 2 near misses on trials due to statistical underpowering, increasing independent scientific papers on apabetalone, etc is not being showcased effectively and Don is scrapping the bottom of the barrel to raise a few bucks.
Bizzare.
Oh well I'm just rambling away and waiting for that rabbit to be pulled out of the hat.
GLTA :)
