Hi Tada.  I agree with much of what you've said but i'm not buying the "canibalization" argument.  People are slow to change their meds, Drs are slow to prescribe off-label uses AND the biggest point is that most of their big money makers are losing patent protection.  A Pfizer or GSK could swoop in and buy up RVX/ZEN and make quite a splash in the news and medical worlds with "the cure" for Long Covid, affecting tens of millions, many of whom may not have ever been prescribed any of their other drugs.  Think of the list of countries lining up to buy a stockpile of Apabetalone to be ready for the next variant in Guyana and Moldova, etc.
