I'm trying to get my head around this issue. Here's something from the Ontario Government almost exactly two years ago. At that time the Minister Responsible for Aboriginal Affairs was David Ramsay.

In November 2007, Michael Bryant met Grand Chief Stan Beardly and everything looked good.

So "Why has the train gone off the rails?" is my question. Here's the latest news release from the Government of Ontario.

So here's the rub quoting KI Councillor Sam MacKay - and I don't have any info yet on it - from the Chronicle Journal:
“The province of Ontario is the one that issued the exploration permit to Platinex without consulting us, never mind accommodating our needs.”
1) When was the exploration permit issued?
2) Who received communications about the permit's issuance?
Clearly our Aboriginal people think they were left out of the communication loop. And that's why we have this crap going on.
