Snug,
Thanks for the great response. I agree with all of your points...except about coveting. Although I don't covet these stocks, I see them as a means to an end...a decent, yet not obscene, profit. However, I'd take an obscene profit if it would come my way. {However, I still have that coveting issue with shoes. It's a girl thing.}
I guarantee that you and many other wise posters have helped the newbie me....and I am positive...many other newbies too. The expertise on these boards is phenomenal. Often times, I just get a question formulated in my head and it is already answered by QQ or you or one of many other posters. Unbelievable!
I know these stocks are high risk. For me, it makes them alot of fun. These stocks are a very small part of our family's portfolio, which is one of those boring and safe big cap and mid cap ones. I worry about posters who are really risking a large portion of their hard earned money. I wish them all the best. I just don't have the tolerance to risk like that.
Even though we wouldn't lose the farm with my McFaulds' adventure, I still want to make the right choices. Nobody has fun losing money. And I somewhat expect to lose some on a few of these juniors, or at least not make money. I am much more optimistic about one or two of them really going through the roof ....I am just not sure which ones! Thus the shot-gun approach.
I think that these months of lurking and learning have given me a sense of the rhythm of things in Mcfaulds-land I buy on the lows and am selling slowly to minimize my risk on the highs. I have discovered that I'll never be a day trader. Too scary and hard on the stomach. Plus, I like thinking that my money is helping to support and build something important, not just enriching myself.
So thanks for all of the opinions of these boards. They are truly enriching.
Have a wonderful easter with your family!
