Topdog: This is really important information. I think even some of the packages that Cliffs is sending out have confusing material. So, everyone read everything carefully; that is why I said in a former post, if you're voting for the merger just put Cliffs package in the garbage and wait for the package from SPQ. But the information about being given the wrong control number when you phone your broker is frightening.
I'm going to phone NN tomorrow and see if there is any way one can check to see that their votes have been tallied the way they intended. As soon as I find out I'll post it here
Topdog, you said:
"The "story" I get from all of them is that because the shares are through a discount on line brokerage, that I am a NOBO (Notice of Beneficial Ownership) holder (versus my actually holding the share certificates) and as such materials would NOT be mailed....?"
According to my broker unless you have an agreement with them that you are to be mailed all proxies etc., they are under no obligation to mail them. You can call them or e-mail your broker and tell them to henceforth send you all such mail, then they are obligated to do so or face charges.Make sure you keep a copy of your request. Registered shareholders receive their packages directly from the Company whose shares they hold.
