Hydrothermal Graphite Deposit Ammenable for Commercial Graphene Applications
It also prudent to assume a lower factor such as 5% (rather than 10%) as a guidance for a target sp. 5% of the in-situ would translate to $10/s, which is not too shabby. It would be pragmatic to use a conservative value for a guesstimate, keeping in mind other factors that may affect the sp (in a positive way, hopefully):
- deposit is still open at depth: Currently, it's a pit-constrain model would be used, and usually miners don't want to make the pit too deep. Depth from 400m to 500m is good enough. But open-pit mining may not be the only way to go (need to remove the overburden and waste rock). It may be more economical to have an underground operation, so that access to additional deposit at depth could be (asily) done, once the shafts are in place. Most likely, the PEA would mention various options for extracting the graphite, and underground would be one.
- As a follow-on, NOT proposal for extracting the nickel deposit in the RoF is a good example of underground mining. The deposit is in the vertical direction, just like ZEN Albany. Everything is located underground and the waste rock would be use to backfill the cavity left behind. No "ugly hole" on the surface that would destroy the original "pristine" condition of the land. It boils down to the fact that nobody want to have an eye-sore. So, out of sight out of mind. In addition, the regulators seem to prefer this method as well, which would speed up the EA process.
- A runaway demand for high quality graphite: ...no explanation would be required here.
- Anything else that would bring positive effect to the sp?
- But, once in a while there would be a need to check the rear view mirror to see if there is anything ugly rearing its head ready to strike in the rear end. This would provide some guidance for when to get off the train which is an individual thing, some would get off too soon (kicking themselves), and some too late (crying profusely, and kicking themselves). To buy is easy (just put your hard earned money on the table), but when to sell is much harder, lol!
