IMO...he's making them show up for his cause. He's trying to demonstrate e.Digital as being underhanded in some fashion.

If that assumption is correct...he's only making his cause look bad where it will be added to the list of previous misdeeds.

As for his giving them back....If they're not returned..it just adds to the list as yet another pair of misdeed.
