Remember, Atul resigned of his own accord. He was not fired. Perhaps there is more behind the scenes than that, I do not know but I do know HE, according to FF, felt unable to handle the communications and business acumen necessary for the business side of being a CEO. He was quite competant, as others here have stated, in his role as an a far sighted engineer.
He was well liked and a close friend of FF.
