The industry you are involved with must be some what straight forward.
Not sure what you mean by your comment.
If operating in depths up to 30,000 ft, temperatures of up to 700 degrees, pressure up to 20,000 psi and having to manipulate tools downhole by turning right or left, picking up or setting down, using hydraulics, needing seals that operate in these conditions, and I could go on for several technical aspects that make other industries look mild in comparison.
Most people have no idea what products, materials and technical knowledge is needed to product oil and gas. It can be compared to the most complex industries and come out pretty much on top.
Our sales staff had to have knowledge of the industry, the competition, the application of several hundred unique products with thousands of variations and have a minimum of an engineering degree.
