It has been in effect for 200 years, but we have many more problems now than we had a few decades ago.
I don 't see the benefit, cheaper now, but less jobs in the US. It was cheaper when we purchased all goods from Japan, then Korea, then others, now china, in the future Africa, and then what.
How about the impact on the trade deficit and the loss of the dollar, etc., etc., etc.
Keep a global perspective, the china goods are cheaper because of slave labor, while taking job s from the US. What about paying higher prices for US made goods, but with high productivity and increased volume, like it was decades ago. Didn't seem to matter and that was with only a single member of the family working.
Are you telling me everything is better with our social/economic conditions? Are you saying we don't need changes because the systemhas worked for 200 years?
We should probably take this topic to the Off Topic Forum, but Doni started the topic and I happen to diagree with some of the comments made.
But that is how it should be, right?
