I have to agree. I just don't see the recent IP news release as being strictly for us to feel good. And though RP was quoted numerous times, you can bet Blakeley and DM saw the release before it went out. And I think this bolded statement by RP is a powerful one:

“Our strategy is to license the use of the Flash-R portfolio,” added Putnam. “Through our legal representatives, we are engaged in licensing discussions and efforts with infringing parties. We are committed to recognizing the value of our patent portfolio and where and as required, we intend to enforce our rights through infringement litigation.”

This can't be interpreted any other way than DM is in negotiations with infingers. RP isn't a liar (though he could probably sell some sand to a Saudi). This doesn't mean infringers are receptive to licensing/settling but at least there are talks happening. Also, he doesn't say it's infringers we're suing now -- it's possible another infringer has seen the writing on the wall and approached EDIG to discuss licensing their IP before a suit is filed against them. I am encouraged by this PR and am looking forward to the upcoming ASM. Hopefully we'll get a nugget or two of good news on the IP suits.
