I realize that Samsung has rights to EDIG's patents as a result of the negotiated settlement last year and the one-time licensing fee. That said, I don't see how that precludes EDIG from partnering with Samsung on new projects if it's in each company's best interest. In fact, partnering with any company they've sold a patent license to. I'm not saying that's the case here, but I feel it's at least a possibility. They of course won't get any payment from Samsung on past Samsung products but perhaps payment and/or royalties from future products as a result of the (hypothetical) partnering agreement.
