Todays formal announcement about the Canon settlement is particularly heartening to me. I find it very interesting that Canon had an agreement in principle with EDIG one month after the Markman ruling. If EDIG was such a sunk ship with no lifeboats, why wouldn't Canon just file for summary judgment? And why haven't the other defendants filed?

From the joint statement in response to the MH ruling (Doc 398), 28 July 11:

"e.Digital and the Canon Defendants have reached an agreement in principle and anticipate filing a Motion to Dismiss the Canon Defendants."
