"HTC files for re-exam and then settles....hmmmm"--I hope this is not the case but, settling does not necessarily mean that HTC feels they believe that the patents are valid. They could have wanted to delay the whole process by filing for the re-exam and then when they found out the amount that EDIG was willing to settle for it made business sense to just pay and move on. Or, they might have seen the light at the end of the tunnel and believed it is the EDIG train heading straight for them and feel fortunate to get off so inexpensively. Only The Shadow knows.
