Just do a quick look at all the hugely complex processes out there for detecting simiconductor faults and you'll get an inlking as to how overwhelming it would be. Much more than writting algorithmic-code imvho - requires a physical aspect, ie as in access to a foundry where they are being produced.

Also IMO their proto-type is nothing more than flow-chart hoping to eximplify to a huge company what they'd like to TRY -
