New AIA Review Rules Would Help Patent Owners Fight Back

By Ryan Davis

Law360, New York (August 19, 2015, 9:35 PM ET) -- Patent owners would have a better opportunity to persuade the Patent Trial and Appeal Board not to review their patents under proposed rule changes for America Invents Act reviews unveiled Wednesday that would expand the evidence allowed in responses to AIA petitions, attorneys say.

The USPTO announced a new round of proposed changes Wednesday to the rules for America Invents Act reviews that would let patent owners give more robust responses to petitions and impose new requirements to crack down on misconduct. (Credit: AP)
