IMVHO the 'i' in OSi stands for interface - Woddy commented many times, ''"Before the use of digital memory, there was never a playback technology completely devoid of mechanical parts," said Elwood G. "Woody" Norris, chairman of Norris Communications. "Cassettes, CDs, laser discs and all other playback devices require some mechanical component, which is typically what wears out and breaks. This amazing new playback unit is based entirely on solid-state technology and will feature capacity comparable to a standard CD player.''

So if e.Digital created the first interface for 'Intel Minature Cards for NOR secondary storage and called it the first 'Intel Miniature card-compatible operating system' which imvh was the essence Within/the circuitry of said handheld device, of taking/capturing the wavelength in analog form and coupling it to/thru the dsp into a digital bit-rate codec for all sinceforth handheld data:

''The Micro OSi provides a file and storage structure to maintain, manipulate and distribute compressed voice, video or data using a file manager API.

IMO Intel/Sandisk best be bidding on edig befor sammy.

Sammy may have got out of the 445/145 but Intel wont.
