They may know, or know of each other. 

There should be no doubt that JB is in touch with numerous monied, knowledgable, and highly succerssful mining investors and speculators.  I will bet that none of these people got where they are by at all ever getting involved with a blind target, as doing so carries more risk than just the poteial loss of money.  It can be a career and reputation killer.
