Governments can't have it both ways..You can't push to lower consumption then cry about losing tax revenues. Kind of like Cigs.. Don't feel bad, one U.S State, I can't recall which one, wants to get rid of gas taxes all together. So they plan to put GPS units in every car and charge people taxes per mile travelled. When you fill up, the pump reads your GPS then adds a distance tax to your bill. Now of course the environmentalists are complaining saying that it's unfair as someone driving a Prious would pay the same tax as someone driving an Escalade..What's really scary about this is that the government knows where you go and when you do it. EVEN scarier YOUR SPOUSE can track you.
