Though I despise the shennanigans played out in the excesses of the past ten years or so, to undo the damage that has been done will require people very knowledgable in the derivative instruments which were so instrumental in the damage which was done. Some of the people involved likely had nothing to do with the underlying derivatives problem. Others may well have. We need the best and most knowledgable people available in order to unwind this problemwhich is measured in the hundred of trillions of dollars. The threat to the entirety of the worlds financial system is just too great to have any but the smartest most knowledgable talent working the problem. Sometimes the thief that is a master, is the very person capable of restoring sanity. Not desirable but, none the less true.
