One point. One does not have bars of gold if one is wise. In physical, I have 1/2 troy oz. Credit Suisse bars and then a few of the better precious metal stocks. Including Goldcorp and Kinross Gold. In silver I have rolls of old US quarters and half dollars and silver dollars(75%) silver and then shares in 2 Canadian companies. Silver Wheaton and a neat little Canadian silver company producing in China, SilverCorp (SVM) which even pays a dividend as do Kinross and Goldcorp.

One wants smaller individual pieces in gold as in the future if you have to sell some for walking around money, one does not want to be stuck with large bars. So small Suisse Credit gold bars up to an ounce, Maple Leafs, etc. Stay away from US gold eagles as they are back ordered and carry a fair premium over metal value.
