Any delay in this jv will do them more harm than good. Remember. Teck needs to spend money on this project each year. They have to keep creating value in this asset. Any delays will improve the value of our 25% share. It's best for them to get rid of us. Improve it further. Sell off percentages of the project and remain as operator.

==========================

I respectfully disagree with you Calvin.

In my opinion, with their commitments to Fort Hills and China adding import tarrifs on coal imports they are not going to want to extend themselves. I think they are concerned about their share price too. The coal tarrif is really going to hurt their bottom line. Some analysts are suggesting Teck may even have to lower their dividend. This to me doesn't sound like an ideal environment to spend 3 billion building out Schaft Creek now. I hear the other reasons to support them moving now, and they are valid - but I am having a hard time buying into them personally.

I strongly believe that ANY delays are NOT going to improve the value of our 25% (I'm talking as a shareholder - value per share held). Burn rate is high and we have many committments to other projects but not even close to the funds needed to take them to conclusion. If there is any delay at all I think we are going to see financing and consolidation - and although I agree that the 25% may increase in value in the long term, OUR value per share is going to see a big hit. What is Teck's required annual spend on Schaft Creek? I think it is not much in comparison to the project value.

Personally, I see this delayed JV meeting in a couple days as a make or break event for us shareholders. It is either going to hopefully reveal some great news that has been hidden from us all along and change the direction of our share price (and explain why we have been going on a spending spree) or it is going to be our last hope dashed and dilution here we come...

I really hope management shows us they have been making the right decisions and not the wrong ones. Good news will restore some faith in them - but if this whole thing turns out to be nothing or just more of the same it will confirm to me that there is no plan in their pocket to benefit us retail investors.

I agree with you that they would benefit by buying us out and taking on a partner.
