Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
? Interesting argument cockrel, but I do find it odd that you're so sure that the thousands of scientists studying this are wrong... on what basis ?
I personally find it odd to see people take such a strong stance by saying things like 'climate change idiots' as in this case you would be pointing a finger at me... I recently went to a Emirates airlines guest speaker dinner in Dubai and watched the chairman get up and state plainly that the air pollution made by airplanes has nothing at all to do with climate change... sorry mate, but I simply can't believe that all the pollution we're creating across our planet is 'harmless' and that the damage being done is overstated. Now I'm not saying in any way that I am doing anything radical to 'help out' but I do believe that industries where there is obvious damage being done need to be forced to make serious changes. Half of the worlds oil is being used on heating homes that have not been properly insulated, which I find disturbing.
Look I have 2 small kids and I care about what we do to our earth, so even if its overstated, I support the movement to clean up our industries and to try and get emerging nations to think about the impact they are making with their pure economic decisions. How does one stop the poor in places like central Africa or South America from deforesting at an unprecedented rate without making the untouched forests 'worth something'? I doubt you will find any credible scientists who feel our current rate of exploitation and pollution is sustainable. I see value in limited resources which is why I invest in them- it is not 'biting that hand that feeds' to expect that the companies obtaining the resources do it in as clean a way as possible with serious regard for the environment. I breath, I like fish, I enjoy nature and I want my kids and grandkids to be able to enjoy these things too- therefore I care about climate change and the environment.
Now say you don't really believe it all and want a pure economic reason to support the 'climate change idiots'... how about this: in 25 years what advantage will the western world have when it comes to competing with India and China? Without green or ethical technology or industry your competing directly on price and manufacturing capabilities... in other words you won't be able to compete at all. Economists have proven that people are willing to pay more for goods that are green or that are made in an ethical way (the Canadian diamond industry can attest to that) so that is the only advantage places like the US will have to offer- being ahead on the curve of technology that is friendly to our environment... if you're afraid of biting that hand that feeds, you should be jumping on the green/environment cash cow like a hungry lion on a gazelle. Heck- think of how the gold price rises when the 'idiots' decide to buy ethical gold from ethical sources and no longer buy from places like the Congo- less supply, more price.
Just because your post is off topic doesn't mean you should stop presenting your case in a respectful way.
