Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
Just finished reading "Beware of Greeks Bearing Bonds"
link :http://www.vanityfair.com/business/features/2010/10/greeks-bearing-bonds-201010
from Ed Steer's weekend column, and, for me, it asks more questions than it answers, especially about the E.U.
1. Why did the people of Greece (not the politicians) feel the need to be part of the E.U?
2. How do you trust completely, ordinary citizens, after they are elected, to make decisions on how much tax monies each individual must pay? (not E.U. specific)
3. How did the people of Greece, doctors etc. not pay taxes for years, and the country thrived as an independent country?
4. Same with Spain, Italy, Portugal, Ireland etc?
5. Why did any country (the people, not the politicians) feel the need to be part of the E.U?
6. Why did the countries not hold referendae, on whether to join the E.U. or not?
7. Why the need for another level of government: another set of bureaucrats: more taxes to pay for this bloated system? (If the individual governments were so wrong, why keep them, and why replace a wrong system with one based on the same ideology?)
8. If the E.U. is/was so good to be a part of, why not go "whole hog". Do away with other symbols besides the monies, i.e. Country flags, anthems, etc., or would this rile up the people to the point of getting rid of the "cancer" before it takes hold.
I could go on with questions, but we in Canada and those in the U.S. suffer from the same "desease, except we have been exposed to it far longer. We accept the "cancer". It is part of our make-up, but it holds us back.
Like any Armada, society, controlled by Government, will only move forward at the "Speed of the Slowest Ship". Is that good for the majority? Think about it!
The answer is one of the reasons why gold is in a secular bull market.
Good Luck to all!
