AU,
The problem with throwing out specifics about how much money the company needs is there is plenty of printed material provided by the company to contradict your estimates. I don't think you take into account the $113.2 million coming due in 2013.
From the 10Q in August which can be found here:
http://www.investors.mannkindcorp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=147953&p=IROL-secToc&TOC=aHR0cDovL2lyLmludC53ZXN0bGF3YnVzaW5lc3MuY29tL2RvY3VtZW50L3YxLzAwMDExOTMxMjUtMTItMzQ3Nzk4L3RvYy9wYWdl&ListAll=1&sXBRL=1
Page 7.....
"The senior convertible notes due 2013 had a carrying value of $113.2 million and $112.8 million as of September 30, 2010 and
December 31, 2009, respectively."
This coupled with the burn and the current cash position and the outstanding balance owed to the Mann Group means the company is out of money. IMO a partial raise at this point does nothing for the stock price. It appears to be dilution or partnership. I haven't ruled out either one at this point.
I appreciate your optimism but reality must enter the equation at some point.
