Maybe I am being a little bit touchy, but I felt it was for good reason.

For months we have had a quality forum that did not have the petty bickering that seems to prevail on the NOT board at times - now it is snaking its way here. Also, when other board members come here and disparage some of our most respected posters, frankly, it pis--- me off. We are all here to learn from each other - let's try and keep to that.

I have a lot of respect for many of the posters on the NOT board, but I do not have the time to wade through so many meaningless posts to get to the quality ones. Someone here recently posted that rather than thumping each other on the back with comments, stick to the thumbs up button - I couldn't agree more. I read every post here, but tend to only read comments that have at least 10 thumb-ups on the NOT board.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion, let's treat them with respect. If anyone feels that I have shown disrespect to them, I blanket apologize and will make every effort henceforth to treat every poster with respect, even if I disagree with their point of view.

I feel like a bit of an idiot preaching as it is not my style, but I have been just disgusted with some of the posts from the past few days. I hope we all do what is necessary to keep this as one of the best quality boards on Agora.
