I mentioned the Holocom venture in my past post. Just to follow up…
A few more details were included in the Holocom job description that was posted over the weekend. They are looking for individuals that have experience with the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet).
This is interesting because the government is in the process of updating both their non-classified (NIPRNet) and classified (SIPRNEt) networks. Request For Proposals (RFPs) are being issued throughout 2007 with aggregate values of $5+ billion. The size of these RFPs have the industry scrambling to obtain a piece of the action.
In addition, Holocom is also a “Conference Partner” at the upcoming Warfare Conference in Europe. At the conference Holocom will be rubbing shoulders with the household names who will be striving to win and prime these large contracts…
Cisco, IBM, HP, SUN, Generaly Dynamics, Juniper, IBM, etc…

I imagine that the Holocom Team is hoping that the big boys at the table will come to the realization that Holocom/Patrtiot should be assigned seats at the table as well. As you may recall, it is my opinion that our ability to add value (commercialize the IP) in these areas may be critical to us successfully implementing against the “earn-out” agreement (just a hunch).
Furthermore, it may be a coincidence…but, Patrtiot’s friends over at General Dynamics are the incumbent provider (the prime) in many of these larger US Government networks; General Dynamics has a huge presence in San Diego.
