LOL...agree that Hickam was a tough duty station!

But this'll blow your mind! As I said, I was behind that 119 in my T-Bird waiting for take off also. As the 119 began it's TO roll, I saw what was a leak of oil or maybe hyd. fluid (I can't even recall where it was coming from)...I advised the tower and they advised the 119!

They aborted, fixed whatever it was, then finished their mission which was a successful "catch" !

I believe during that time they were using a large V-shaped thingie in front of the nose.........correct me if I'm wrong.

I did have a few more cushy assignments in my 27 year active service like SEA (F-4's 1970-1971) working out of Udorn, Thailand then 3 years in Germany in the 81TFS (wild weasels)
