Firstly, "Begging your pardon" was not taken as anything other than the start of my reply. Apologies if you thought that I thought otherwise(hope you are smiling ,as I was when typing).

 

The license has been sold as a package because it simplifies the process. If they were going to have difficulties collecting on finished chips, imagine how much harder it would be for them to check on every licensee(assuming 300-plus eventually)for infringement on non-licenced chips within the portfolio.

Remember, once there is settlement on the '148 and '336, a license for futher use will still be required(time for another analogy, just because one paid fines for driving without a driver's license doesn't grant one a license to drive subsequently).

What if only the '584 came with indemnity?
