Ease, the motion to stay referred to the "present action." I could be wrong but I think that means anything to do with the whole case, e.g., ACP ruling, deadlines, depositions (I believe one was set for tomorrow).
Pure speculation on my part but perhaps JW let the parties know how he was going to rule on Shaw, Higgins, etc., and strongly encouraged settlement discussions in exchange for a 30-day delay of proceedings? Immediate approval of the stay motion indicates he is closely involved in negotiations now, imho.
