Regardless of what he actually says in his speech, his is a highly inflamatory title, and this by a man who has just been replaced as the CEO of a small IP company fighting to defend itself against being labeled as such by it's adversaries; and them even using that widely accepted derogatory term to discredit the legitimacy of our business model (existance) in court
Perhaps a more accurate title would have read:
Confessions of (an) ex CEO of a small IP company fighting to defend itself against being labeled a Patent Troll by it's adversaries; and them even using that widely accepted derogatory term to discredit the legitimacy of (it's) business model (existance) in court (before reaching a business resolution on all claims).
Yes, the accusation of Patent Troll has often been made, even in court, but I still question the success of those attempts. More so when Turley's presentation will cover,
Jim Turley will discuss the pros and cons of IP licensing and how it can help -- or hurt -- the industry.
or, when does a patent holder become a troll?
I have absolutely no concerns whatsoever with the title, confident in the knowledge that PTSC is NOT a patent troll. Others with less belief might see it differently.
Be well
