You are 100% wrong in this!
My father bought @ $ 1,40 because he believed in this story - I know a lot of people, who bought AFTER the big explosion to $2, because they believed the management and what they told the public (remember the Pohl interviews in 2006, the 2007 dividend and the pr for it???).
My guess is, there are far more people, who never had the chance to make money in the last three years! Teh only ones, who had this chance, where thos, who invested between 2002 and 2005.
This has nothing to do with greed, but with intentional and misleading information by the company in order to save the money for Swartz.
