Its important to remember that the GOP senators from Tennessee and Alabama (Nissan and Toyota respectively) were trying to shut down the US auto industry by blocking any bailout and putting 1.1 million American (and union) workers out of work.

Also remember that these same senators and the right wing US media (Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, etc.) held the auto industry to a higher standard than the bank executives. Remember the corporate jet issue, remember any corresponding issue about the banks flying to DC on corporate jets?)
