I think that there might be an interesting advantage to all of this confusion of "who owns what and who is connected to who?". It would be a lot more difficult, I suspect, for a major to come in and take over a find when the riches are spread amongst, shall we speculate, an organized group of companies who could control more readily how the takeover proceeds. It's something like a safety in numbers concept..... like lions trying to take out a zebra in a heard where the intricacy of the moving stripes confuses them.
