Sweet post Bentonstocks. Very well put. It too bad there isn't a way to keep the bit straight but really its like a plumbing snake. Whereever it hits resistence it diverts direction (of course the driller won't know so they can be drilling sideways or up for a hundred or more metres, instead of down) once it becomes more flexible due to extension after extension to the drill.
