Cannon, I am not knocking those I did knock earlier. To make sense of this I can say these individuals are as smart as any other person but when they work for a firm/Institution they have practices and protocalls to follow and usually for their own good and that of the client as well. With that in mind, they are focused as they need to be by their firm/Institution to accomplish the firms/Institutions goals. The client remains with their choice firm/Institution so long as they are benefiting sufficiently on a returns - fees basis. The individual advisors may or may not be good at other things. Each is different that way etc..
I on the other hand know what I am good at and know what I learn. Overall I trust myself and my abilities well above most of these advisors and what they have to do to tow the company line, etc. and have always been the better for it. I have compared my returns to that of their returns on my money and I do better with or with out their fees considered. My experience is the same as that of every one I know well enough to discuss these types of matters with. Including those I know who are directly involved in this very industry.
