I certainly do not agree with the way the income trust issue was handled because it caused a lot of panic and pain, but the poeple who lost were the ones who rushed for the exits when the end of trusts were announced. In a lot of cases, they would have seen a significant recovery if they had just hung on.

The income trust loophole was seriously flawed and had to be fixed before the problem became infinately worse - they just took out a shotgun to kill a fly.
