With regards to any discussions with any majors it's important to keep in mind who is calling the shots....as in the Vale/Xstrata deal...this is a quote...."It is believed that Vale could not secure an agreement with commodities trading firm Glencore International AG, which controls 35 per cent of Xstrata's shares."

Another interesting quote from that article is this.... “Xstrata is not the only opportunity,” he said. “There are others.”

And...with regards to commodity prices..."demand from Asia would likely continue to prop up prices"
