Buy out? Well possible. There could just be a government chamge in the EA to a joint review and the FN,s will be supportive now. This would mark a change in direction from confrontational to lets get started now. Cliffs does not need to be part of the project for Noront and the relationships needed to share infrastructure from a north/south route can come when Cliffs gets past the EA stage. Coordinating a one corridor event was an attempt to satisfy the early questions of enviormentalists. It is not neccesary to have one entrance if the impacts from Noront are minimal. East/west and a future second route if needed and supported. Start with an undergound Noront and soon to make prosperity and then procceed to the large open pit as impacts of culture get minimalized. Cliffs can take their time and procceed even without the desired "cheap route" and Noront can move ahead. Especialy with Baosteel support. The shared runway/airport and initial iceroad will satisfy both companys and other explorers goals untill a future plan can be agreed upon. Jobs for locals who can be shown the quality of enviormental stewerdship by the "outsiders" will go a long way to gain support from all affected communities. Its all in the ever changing plans of mine building. With the change in mood from "what is happening" to lets "get at it" adds much value to Noront and Cliffs as well as to the FN's and future benifactors of the influx of millions to be spent on the building of SOMETHING but arguments. There still may be some blocking and posturing, but the change to an up direction is positive for all.
