Sulasailor, it has been confirmed that the TRAB still exists and Synopsis is still involved regarding the PDK which is a key process component for at least Wavetek and POET themselves. And of course it will cover the whole POET platform by now simply because they need it, even without IP transfer to a major partner.

Ockham's razor doesn't tell us what is right or wrong, but only which hypothesis is more likely than others. That's all. It doesn't rule out a cooperation with a major partner, but declares it as not being very likely since there's no evidence.
