I got some information in regards to the natural gas symposium as some people went. They got to talk to QEC and I guess Talisman will be working 100% with the SEA committee to be announced shortly and the goal is still to frac those two wells this year. Mr Binnion I guess said some thinking even this spring, depending on how fast the government moves.
There will be interim regulations that will be released shortly to be put in place. These will be temporary regulations, as the pilot phase will still continue.
I don't know what equipment you are talking about Foghorn? Quebec shouldn't have any drilling or fracing equipment in there, so who knows? Canbrium however is shutting down two wells as they were told to do so as a precaution because they have some leakage at the wellhead, but those are the only two.
What is clear is that progress is being made in Quebec. More and more reports keep mentioning or reiterating the BAPEs comments on seeing the economic viability...even the auditor general's report mentioned that (basically that report echoed the BAPE report) on wanting detailed figures on what kind of royalties Quebec can expect.
The pilot wells will continue, this has been made very clear. The only thing that Mr Binnion said TLM and QEC and basically the industry is waiting on right now is setting up the committee so they can continue their work...like he said, killing two birds with one stone. The only change is it's under the banner of the SEA. Fracing for commercial purposes isn't allowed, only for science...ie. water tests, and as the BAPE said, to test economic viability. Frankly the industries timeline always suggested a slow pace until 2014, so nothing has changed in that regards.
We all have different ways that we trade etc. One thing I heard from many others that hold this stock, was that one or two horizontals with success and this shoots back up like nothing again. Just the annoucement of them getting ready to frac will shoot it up...and right now you're paying a small premium on top of the cash for the land which is grossly undervalued. I'll be adding here instead of selling. But I do understand how some of you and others want to move and then get back in for sure...but in a year I doubt we'll be this low...but then again some do like to buy with more certainty, even if they have to pay more.
Again on that BNN segment that I posted, they can't buy back shares as they are in a lock out phase because they just released year end results etc, but he said they are looking very closely at it.
All I can say is I'm looking forward to seeing the government and industry come together and get it done. This is why we have industry experts that will be on this committee, so they can educate others in the committee. Binnion said they are 100% confident here in their drilling. They are 1000m below here...NY is recommending a safe distance of 300m below the aquifer.
Science and facts will dictate this moving forward, not journalist roaming the internet and watching HBO gasland...and that's something I find very reassuring.
