Nice point. I have no problems with QEC spending some money elsewhere and ramping up their land position.
As Mr Binnion said, they expect to drill those two wells this summer. Jason told me that the Quebec Oil and Gas commission is in talks with the government and it's importance to get this study going and getting it done as soon as possible, or it will discourage companies. Even looking at the Marcellus. In June the moratorium in NY will be lifted...but surrounding areas and states are going crazy over gas development. I read an article that even said Marcellus gas could be sold to Europe (LNG?).
It's just a matter of time. I don't think we'll be waiting a year, as they want to frac the wells they have drilled soon. Right now it's all on the Quebec government, and they're in the process of getting this thing done.
In regards to who will represent the industry. Anela was saying that Michael would have been great, but this person needs to be bilingual. So we were thinking someone from Gastem or Junex. Those companies have some smart leaders and are local to Quebec, so that could be solid.
Today's price is a complete joke. I read an article today about BC. You can search it. The land sales in BC are dropping as companies say that drilling is a bit more complicated there and that there is no infrastructure around. Last year they sold off 440M+ in shale gas leases, this year only 17M.
Quebec is a great place for drilling. I expect the government to get things going and this will be good for all parties. I could see QEC being bought up in time no question. I however in the past 6 years have been holding and didn't once think about selling for a low ball offer. I can wait to see it carry out it's potential. Patience rewards investors in cases like these.
