BETonMACE commenced dosing on November 11, 2015 for a trial consisting of 2400 patients with the first wave of patients in the trial being dosed for up to 24 months. Even at trial start, the 125 event futility analysis was predicted to be around mid-2017 give or take a quarter. The enrollment updates in the various DSMB reports and other news releases in 2016 and 2017 indicated that enrollment was lagging behind the intial modeling. I don't think "we" ever thought that the trial would have accumulated 250 events at any point during 2017.
