If I was LG, CASIO or NIKON, I'd be dancing the jig that I avoided over ten years of possible infringement exposure for a one time settlement fee. By the same token, EDIG is happy to score some early and quick wins to secure their "business on the brink" and possibly go profitable in their first year of IP litigation....which is a huge turnaround with relatively little effort or expense on their part.

Once EDIG debt is gone and cash reserves secure their position, the Markman should be coming into focus and I suspect settlements will increase accordingly.

Until then my focus is on the coming guidance for fiscal 2009 which ends March 31st.

This should be a bang up quarter...and we are off to a GREAT start with the annnouncement we received on day 8 of January.

Expecting the next round of infringers to be announced before April and another settlement or two as well..
