When Samsung offered $26/share for Sandisk (SNDK) when it was trading for $13, we are talking $6 Bln cash. What revs over the next 3-4 years did Samsung think SNDK had in their pipeline? I don't know, so does anyone else have a figure to share?? That might be interesting to know. We also need to remember that SNDK had a 7 year deal with Samsung @ $350M/yr, and after turning down being bought, a new 7 year deal was closed for $175M/yr. That's $3.675 Bln over 14 years just to license their IP, and they were willing to pay $6 Bln to own it, after shelling out $2.45 Bln the previous 7 years.

I'm of the opinion, based on the many actions by Samsung in the CE market, that they would place a higher value on EDIG's price to buy them, than $2. I'm also of the opinion that DM/EDIG would play hard ball in a buyout offer.
