IMO, more than one way to look at this.

Yes, we were encouraged late last year, to include seeing the details as presented by FF at the last SHM, to be introducing the next gen eVU in 2010, thus shelving the project, is a disappointment.

Then again, if the market for IFE is not recovered to the point that EDIG can benefit and make back the R&D cost in a reasonable time period, why go forward at this time? I don't see this announcement to mean it's dead forever, just the timing makes no sense ROI wise.

Companies shift gears all the time regarding R&D, introducing new and improved models or a completely new product, and sense we currently do not have money to "waste" their decision to put this off until the business climate can support it, to be a smart move.

The alternate plan as stated, is a "makeover" of the current model.

I guess if one cannot afford a plastic surgeon do to a limited budget, at least hire a make up artist to get buy until you can justify the investment.
