I was here (since '97). If you'll recall, the fella providing the entertainment at the DataPlay booth was/is an acquaintance of mine. He was also a large investor in DataPlay (as was another acquaintance - they both got out before it croaked).

What I'm saying is that IMO the wise move would have been to find a competent Patent Enforcement law firm, turn over the necessary supporting paper, and let them go for it (just as today with DM). How much effort would it take to get the "legal notice of claimed infringement" machine cranked up? Recall that you can only claim damages from the point in time when notice is given. The earlier the notice, the greater the damages.

So, very little effort, bigger (potentially much bigger) return. How much time/resources did they dedicate to the DMPs and IFE? Where was the greater probable return?

All water under the bridge now....it doesn't matter.

BTW, I still have my Odyssey 1000. Still works great! Kinda clunky in today's world, but no probs and original battery.
