That's the way I remembered it. Management and the people they hired/consulted with were responsible for verifying that the portfolio looked promising and identifying in particular the 774 prior to DM even being signed. And is more than likely "the reason DM signed".

Sounds like this is an instance where management deserves credit, not criticism.
