Apple has always been a viable company on many levels, although not dominant in the early goings. So, on that front I agree that there is no comparison.

However, when you look at what products and markets led to Apple's market dominance, I don't know how one could not compare their paths, as their handheld music players and music download sites had very similar visions in the same time frame, when the market was still virgin.

EDIG had the idea to converge their music players with their own online music download sight and so did Apple. Had the Odyssey with VoiceNav become the market darling, the outcome could have been quite different.

It didn't and I am over it.

I now look forward to the final word on the patents, their continued monetization and the new technologies development. Currently for me, EDIG today is a very different investment than it was in 1999. I still have hope that things could swing back in our favor.

I still look for those small companies that have the promise and technology to take advantage of growth markets, as EDIG once presented.
