IMO, It's the only way a theoretical company will step up to the plate and bid...

It would have to hold ownership to some degree...otherwise, if the bid is not excepted, or the theoretical voting rights are not enough to gain control...the stock takes off like a rocket...because, an event like that will highlight value considered by a company.

At minimum, they gain on the ownership value...for what ever degree of ownership...and call it a day.

IMO, No one is going to approach e.Digital with a bid unless they have an angle....I see none other than that.
